IEOM is responsible for issuing banknotes and coins denominated in CFP francs in New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna. The Institute ensures that cash in circulation throughout its area of operation is well maintained and of a high quality.
IEOM carries out cash operations with credit institutions that hold accounts with it, as well as with their service providers, such as cash-in-transit companies, at its counters.
The attached document outlines the rules and procedures governing these operations.
Credit institutions, payment institutions, electronic money institutions and service providers acting on their behalf may carry out banknote recycling operations provided they comply with the specific conditions set by the IEOM Supervisory Board and detailed in dedicated agreements.
As the competent authority for the issuance and protection of the integrity of CFP francs, the IEOM has published regulatory texts regarding the recirculation of CFP franc banknotes. These rules are applied through agreements signed between private operators and the IEOM.

IEOM offers free training sessions for professionals in the cash handling sector, including banknote handlers and trainers. The training courses focus on authenticating CFP franc banknotes and the criteria for manual quality sorting.
The sessions are mandatory for staff performing manual operations at counters and in exceptional circumstances.
As IEDOM is not a certified training organisation, it cannot issue official diplomas or certifications. However, it can provide a certificate of attendance for the training session.
